Why does LeBron James trade rumors continue to circulate?

LeBron James is reportedly looking for a new job, but if his new deal is worth the risk, the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar may be willing to take a chance on another team.

The New York Knicks have been linked to James since his departure from the Cavaliers in July, and they have been working to sign James to a long-term deal for months.

ESPN.com’s Marc Stein and Mike Mazzeo reported on Wednesday that James has been offered a five-year, $100 million contract by the Knicks, though sources told ESPN that the offer isn’t finalized.

Stein and Mazzea also reported that James was interested in trading for Giannis Antetokounmpo, though it was unclear if the Bucks were interested in the forward.

James reportedly asked the Cavs for his services in a potential trade in August, but it appears the team made a last-minute deal to keep him.

The Cavs have been active in free agency and have had several offers to offer James, but they have not made a move yet.

Sources told ESPN’s Marc Smith that James and the Cavs have had talks with the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Celtics, Knicks, and Timberwolves have reportedly made moves to fill their big-market need at center, but James would be an ideal fit.

James was in attendance at Tuesday’s training camp, which also included the Lakers, the Clippers, and the Mavericks.

He played in the preseason, but the Cavs said he will not be available for a full season because of his concussion.
