How LeBron James and Russell Westbrook traded draft picks for Russell Westbrook
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Russell Westbrook and Detroit Pistons forward Reggie Jackson have traded their first-round picks for Boston Celtics guard Reggie Jackson, sources told ESPN.
The Cavaliers traded their pick to Detroit for the No. 6 pick in this year’s draft.
Jackson is expected to be a lottery pick.
The Pistons and Cavs traded their second-round pick and a second-rounder to Boston for Jackson, according to a source.
The Pistons selected Oklahoma forward Josh Jackson in the second round.
Jackson, who is averaging 18.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game for the Pistons, has been a top-10 scorer for the Celtics, averaging 18 points and 6.6 rebounds in 26.8 minutes per game.
He averaged 13.4 points and 9.1 rebounds per 36 minutes in the 2015-16 season for the NBA’s second-worst defense.
He has a team-high five double-doubles this season.
Jackson had four assists and three steals in the Celtics’ win over the Orlando Magic on Monday.
The Celtics are trying to keep pace with the Los Angeles Lakers, who are playing in the final of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
